Chapter Thirteen
"Time is running out, Josie."
"What do you mean? Since when is there a time limit on this assignment?"
Instead of an answer, a whisper of thunder rumbled in the distance.
Josie glanced around, unease filling her. Ever since her death the sound of thunder reminded her of all she'd lost. She hated the sound. She also hated the place D.J. and Christian had run to, almost as much as D.J. did. Josie had recognized Isadora immediately. Though the cabin D.J. resided in now was different from the one where Josie had died, Josie knew the other was not far away, and that knowledge rested like a sharp shard of glass against her breastbone. She did not want to see that other cabinbut she somehow knew she would.
